Position: Development & Community Relations Officer
Program: Fund Development
Reporting to: Director of Resources & Development
Position Type: Full-time, permanent
Summary: The Development and Community Relations Officer plays a key role in advancing WINGS’ mission by supporting the organization’s fund development and community engagement efforts. Reporting to the Director of Resources & Development, this position helps implement strategic fundraising initiatives, supports grant writing and donor stewardship, and builds meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and the broader community. The Officer will contribute to the growth of major gifts, corporate giving, and endowment efforts, while also coordinating events and campaigns that strengthen WINGS’ visibility and impact. This role is ideal for a relationship-driven professional who is passionate about community-building and making a difference in the lives of women and children experiencing domestic violence.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
· Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Resources & Development to implement WINGS’ comprehensive fund development strategy.
· Support the design, growth, and stewardship of sustainable major gift, corporate partnership, and planned giving programs.
· Assist in the execution of endowment-building initiatives that align with long-term funding goals.
· Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns and special events in partnership with the fund development team, ensuring successful execution and follow-up.
· Work with the fund development team to identify funding opportunities, prepare grant applications, and support timely reporting of outcomes to funders.
· Proactively build and steward relationships with donors and prospects, including giving presentations, leading tours, and maintaining regular communication to enhance engagement.
· Maintain accurate records and generate reports related to donations, donor activities, and event revenue, ensuring transparency and data integrity.
· Actively participate in special events committee meetings, working in close collaboration with the Chair and committee members to advance fundraising initiatives.
· Serve on the Community Engagement Committee, helping to promote awareness of WINGS’ mission and increase community involvement.
· Cultivate meaningful and lasting partnerships within the community to expand support, collaboration, and awareness of WINGS’ work.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
· Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, special events, communications, or a related field.

· Vulnerable Sector and Child Welfare Check
· Class 5 license and access to reliable vehicle with minimum $2M Liability Insurance
· Must adhere to Code of Conduct Policy, respect confidentiality and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
