Full-Time Youth Worker
WINGS of Providence (WINGS) - a non-profit organization that serves women and children escaping situations of domestic violence, is accepting applications for a full-time Youth Worker. WINGS’ Mission is to save lives and create futures for women and children fleeing domestic violence.
WINGS is looking for an energetic, creative, and responsible individual who is passionate about working with vulnerable children and youth who have left situations of domestic violence. Our organization is committed to maintaining a positive and engaging workplace for all employees.
Key Responsibilities of this position:
To provide learning experiences for the youth by planning and implementing diverse educational, recreational and life skills programs.
Implement strategies for building attachment with children.
Maintain complete and accurate daily records that include activities, accomplishments, and other communications.
Facilitate in house and community activities/field trips. Outdoor activities increase during the spring/summer months.
Encourage and promote healthy parent/child interaction by example and support.
To make referrals to appropriate agencies.
To intervene appropriately in crisis situations.
To take on an advocacy role as required with community agencies on behalf of the family.
Education and Experience:
Diploma/degree in Human Services
Experience with Youth
Experience with Group Facilitation an asset.
Knowledge of Family Violence an asset.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment essential.

Shifts will vary between 8:30pm-4:30pm and 1:00pm-9:00pm, Monday – Friday
37.5 Hrs. per week
Salary: From $20 per hour
