Facility Manager

WINGS – Women In Need Growing Stronger, is currently recruiting for a full-time (37.5 hours/ week), Facility Manager in South-East Edmonton. WINGS is a non-profit agency that provides second-stage shelter, affordable housing and wrap around support services for women and children who have experienced family violence.

 

Summary:

The Facility Manger’s primary focus is the Property Management of both WINGS’ Second-Stage Shelter (20 units) and the Home Next Door affordable housing facility (29 units). Building cleanliness is a top priority. The successful candidate will work well in a fast-paced, positive, and collaborative environment.

 

Job Duties: 

  • Respond to tenant inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.

  • Handle lease agreements, renewals, and terminations.

  • Coordinate with tenants for property inspections, repairs, and maintenance.

  • Create and manage property budgets, including operating expenses and capital improvements.

  • Schedule and oversee routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and renovations.

  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards.

  • Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers.

  • Identify and address potential risks to property safety, security, and compliance.

  • Implement emergency response plans and procedures for various scenarios.

  • Stay informed about local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations related to property management.

  • Handle evictions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records, including leases, contracts, and correspondence.

  • Coordinate property inspections, assessments, and appraisals as needed.

  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing paperwork, processing invoices, and managing correspondence.

  • Supervising a small team of security/ reception staff.

  • Working with vulnerable women and children.

  

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Property management knowledge and experience

  • Minimum grade 12 education

  • Valid First Aid, current Criminal Record Check and Intervention Check required.

  • Must be able to receive direction and be self-directed, decisive, and flexible.

  • Strong written and verbal language skills

  • Computer use: Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint

  • Supervisory Skills

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Experience working with diverse and multi-cultural communities.

Remuneration: 

WINGS offers holiday pay and a generous benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience. 

Hours of Work: 

37.5 hours per week.
