Early Childhood Educator - Relief

WINGS – Women In Need Growing Stronger, is currently recruiting for a relief position, Early Childhood Educator in South-East Edmonton in the Rocky Forest Daycare. If you are looking to make a difference in a child's life and make a family feel supported we are the program for you. We are a small child-focused daycare and out-of-school care supporting children whose mother has fled domestic violence. 

 

Summary: 

Salary does not include wage top-up. Relief position starting immediately. If you have Level 2 or 3 and are looking for a relief position, no guaranteed hours, 3 hour minimum shift when called in. Small ratio so you can focus on the child’s needs, and your role as an Educator. Trauma-informed care supports the needs of families fleeing from domestic violence. 

We incorporate the FLIGHT framework curriculum and encourage a child's imagination to be a mighty citizen. Connected with ARQUE and have a Pedagogical Partner Consultant. 

The daycare is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm in southeast Edmonton and are a non-profit licensed for 33 children in the daycare and 16 in our out-of-school: low ratios and high Educator support. Should be flexible to work with toddler to kindergarten age. Monday to Friday, 3-hour minimum per day.

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Alberta Child Care Staff Certification Level 2 or 3 Early Childhood Educator 

  • Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Check 

  • Current Childcare First Aid and CPR Certificate 

  • Minimum 1-year experience Child Care Field 

 

Job Type: Relief 

Salary: $15.33 per hour (plus $5.05 Government Wage Top Up) 

Expected hours: no guaranteed hours relief 

Schedule: 

  • Day shift 

  • Monday to Friday 

  • No weekends
